Questions over drug pricing program

Lawmakers also raised concerns about “TrumpRx,” a government-backed platform aimed at lowering prescription drug prices.

Critics argue that the program lacks transparency and may disproportionately benefit pharmaceutical companies. Some also noted that many listed medications already have cheaper generic alternatives.

Kennedy defended the initiative, stating that it delivers meaningful savings. However, the U.S. continues to face some of the highest drug prices globally.

Political pressure builds

The hearing comes as Cassidy faces political pressure ahead of a primary challenge, potentially influencing his restrained tone during questioning.

Meanwhile, Kennedy has appeared before Congress multiple times in recent weeks, facing increasing scrutiny from both parties.
