MSNBC Host Skewers Right-Wing ‘Snowflakes’ Distressed By Cracker Barrel Logo

MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart roasted conservatives who have worked themselves up over Cracker Barrel’s new logo in a Saturday episode of “The Weekend.”
The Southern-themed restaurant chain debuted its design overhaul this week. The new version nixes the former logo’s “Uncle Herschel” character, the barrel, and the words “Old Country Store.” It also alters the logo’s color scheme and overall shape.
While plenty of people took issue with the minimalist rebrand on purely aesthetic grounds, a narrative is also emerging among some on the right that the new logo is “woke.”
GOP Rep. Byron Donalds (Fla.) called it a “woke rebrand.” Donald Trump Jr. shared a post from the “Woke War Room” account that appeared to link the logo to the Cracker Barrel CEO’s “DEI regime.” And a Christian college wrote that the rebrand had the “same energy” as a defaced George Washington statue.
“I am so sick of the outrage of these snowflakes,” Capehart told co-host Eugene Daniels on Saturday.

“There are so many things that offend them, that get them all upset, they’re shootin’ beer cans and burnin’ hats and stuff like that,” he added, referencing outrage over Bud Light partnering with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney in 2023. “Meanwhile, there are real things people are concerned about and they’re losing their minds over a redesign. What the— see, I’m trying not to curse.”
Daniels, noting that he went to the restaurant “a lot” as a child, said he would “love” to hear from Trump Jr. about “whether or not he’s actually been to a Cracker Barrel.”
Capehart added, “And it’s not like they closed Cracker Barrel!”
Daniels threw in a “thank God!” before his co-host continued, “Or replaced the little man leaning on the … barrel with, you know —“
Before he could finish, Capehart mused, “I do hope the little man’s OK.”
