More than 700 business leaders from India and Russia convened in Moscow on Wednesday for the XV India‑Russia Business Dialogue, underscoring the growing strategic partnership between the two nations.

The event, organised by the Indian Business Alliance, focused on mutual cooperation in high‑tech industries, trade expansion, infrastructure development, education, and cultural exchange. Speakers included Sergey Cheremin, Head of Moscow’s Business Council for Cooperation with India; India’s Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar; Dmitry Volvach, Russia’s deputy economic development minister; and Vladimir Platonov, President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce.

Cheremin described 2024 as “a busy year for bilateral relations,” highlighting breakthroughs in pharmaceuticals, microelectronics, AI, and transport projects. Ambassador Vinay Kumar cited India’s strong GDP growth of 7.58% and stressed efforts to facilitate trade in national currencies and expand banking and settlement channels.

Deputy Minister Volvach noted that bilateral trade reached $46.5 billion in the first nine months of 2024—a 15% increase year‑on‑year—and reaffirmed a shared goal of $100 billion by 2030. He also spotlighted an 86% surge in Indian tourists to Russia and the rollout of e‑visas as catalysts for tourism growth.

The dialogue featured targeted sessions on finance, healthcare, biotechnology, logistics, and innovation. It concluded with dozens of B2B meetings aimed at forging new commercial linkages.

The forum was backed by Moscow’s Department for External Economic Relations and the Roscongress Foundation, with TV BRICS serving as the official media partner.
