Sophie Turner Says Accidental Flirting Ended A-List Engagement

Sophie Turner has revealed that an innocent wave at San Diego Comic-Con years ago unexpectedly led to the breakup of a high-profile Hollywood couple.

The Game of Thrones alum, 29, told Seth Meyers on Thursday that the “quite crazy” night took a turn when her childhood friend spotted an actor she admired and begged Turner to “say hi.” Wanting to help, Turner simply waved from across the room.

From Friendly Gesture to Relationship Drama

Later that evening, Turner approached a well-known actress to tell her how much she admired her work. But instead of a warm reception, the actress snapped: “Can you stop f–king flirting with my fiancé?”

When Turner asked who the fiancé was, the actress pointed to the same man she had waved at earlier. “I have no idea who this man is,” Turner said, adding that she later learned the couple broke off their engagement that very night because of the incident.

“I didn’t realize I held this power,” she joked. Turner declined to name the pair, saying she would “get in trouble” if she did.

Onscreen Awkwardness With Kit Harington

Turner also discussed her upcoming film The Dreadful, in which she shares romantic scenes with former onscreen sibling Kit Harington. She admitted the experience was “vile” and “worse” than filming with cockroaches and a mouse for her latest release, Trust.

Offscreen, Turner has been dating British aristocrat Peregrine “Perry” Pearson on and off since 2023, following her split from Joe Jonas. She and Jonas, 36, share two daughters, Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, and continue to co-parent.
