Megyn Kelly ripped into U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi on Friday, blaming her for the growing discord over the Trump administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case.

The former Fox News anchor characterized the backlash as the first “big” scandal for President Donald Trump ― at least for those on the right.

“This is the first big scandal, I’d say, of the Trump administration that’s on Team Rational,” Kelly said, speaking on stage alongside MAGA personality Charlie Kirk at a Tampa event for Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA. “It’s not a fake media scandal like the left tries to create for President Trump every other day.”

Public backlash began brewing this week after the Department of Justice and FBI released a memo announcing they had found no evidence that disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender who died while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, kept a “client list” or blackmailed influential people. The agencies also said there was no evidence that Epstein, whose 2019 death behind bars was ruled a suicide, was murdered.

The memo came months after Bondi had seemed to confirm the existence of an Epstein client list.

“It’s sitting on my desk right now to review,” she said on Fox News in February.

On Friday, Kelly asked the crowd to “make some noise if you care about the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.” She was met with wild cheers from the attendees of the event, which was geared towards young conservatives.

Kelly suggested that Trump was not at fault for the controversy, speculating that the issue hasn’t “captured his attention quite yet.”

“I’ve gotta be honest,” Kelly told the crowd. “I blame Pam Bondi.”

After stating that she has “nothing” against Bondi “as a human being,” Kelly continued, “She is the reason that things are unraveling around this story right now that virtually all of the Republican party cares deeply about.”

She then accused Bondi of trying to “tease” the public with juicy promises about the Epstein files.

“She has never missed an opportunity to go on television and dangle sweet nothings that might be coming your way. Try to lead you to believe that she’s got it, it’s on her desk, it’s coming tomorrow, you’re gonna see something on Epstein,” Kelly said. “And it was a tease. So you either believe that Pam Bondi was telling the truth then or that she’s telling the truth now. But both cannot be true.”
