Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon killed at least 13 people on Wednesday, according to Lebanese security sources, as fighting with Hezbollah intensified alongside the broader regional conflict involving Iran and Israel.

The strikes hit multiple locations across southern Lebanon, including the village of Dayr Debba, located east of Tyre. Lebanese state media reported that nine of the victims were killed in that single village, while additional casualties were reported in nearby areas. Footage from the region showed vehicles burning in the southern city of Sidon following the attacks.

The escalation comes amid continued hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, which has been active along the Lebanon–Israel border since the wider regional war intensified earlier this year.

Rising violence in southern Lebanon

Southern Lebanon has become one of the most active fronts in the ongoing conflict. Israeli forces have repeatedly targeted Hezbollah positions, while the group has responded with attacks on Israeli military targets in northern Israel.
