Trump Says Walter Reed Medical Exam ‘Went Perfectly’

U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that his latest medical evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center “checked out perfectly,” following several hours of testing and examinations.

The White House said additional details from the visit are expected within the next couple of days.

Trump says medical tests were successful

Trump visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday for what the White House described as routine annual dental and medical assessments.

“Just finished my 6 month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Everything checked out PERFECTLY,” Trump wrote on social media. “Thank you to the great Doctors and Staff!”

According to White House officials, the appointment lasted roughly three and a half hours.

White House expected to release more details

A White House official told reporters that more information about the president’s health evaluation could be released “in the next day or so.”

The visit marked Trump’s third scheduled medical appointment at Walter Reed in the last 13 months.

In April 2025, Trump underwent a full physical examination at the same facility. His physician at the time, U.S. Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella, concluded that the president was in “excellent health” and “fully fit” to serve.

Trump will turn 80 later this year.

Previous health concerns drew attention

Over the past year, Trump’s health has drawn public attention several times.

The president has frequently appeared with bruising on his hands. White House officials previously attributed the marks to frequent handshakes, while Trump later said aspirin use also contributed to the bruising.

Earlier this year, redness appeared on the right side of Trump’s neck. The White House said it resulted from a preventative skin cream treatment.

Last summer, Trump was also diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition affecting blood circulation in the legs, particularly in older adults. The White House described the condition as benign.

Trump continues emphasizing fitness and cognitive health

Trump has repeatedly highlighted his physical and cognitive health during public appearances.

Earlier this month, he said he still feels the same as he did “50 years ago,” while acknowledging that age eventually affects everyone.

The president also recently stated that he completed multiple cognitive tests and “aced” them. Trump has frequently called on political opponents to undergo similar testing.

A White House spokesperson told ABC News that Trump remains “the sharpest and most accessible president in American history” and said he continues working nonstop on administration priorities.
